Gospel Reflection

Stay awake!
Happy those servants who are alert and ready
when their master comes.

When much is given, more will be demanded.
When a great deal is given on trust,
a great deal more is expected.
Stay awake!

‘Why are you sleeping?’ Jesus said.
‘Rise and pray, that you may be spared the test.’

Gospel Reading - Jesus’ mother

19 Once when his mother and brothers came to see him, they couldn’t get into the house where he was teaching because of the crowds. 20When Jesus heard they were standing outside and wanted to see him, 21he remarked, “My mother and my brothers are all those who hear the message of God and obey it.”

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
     hallowed be your name,
     your kingdom come,
     your will be done,
          on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
     as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
     and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
     now and for ever.
Amen.
