you called Cuthbert
from looking after sheep
to be a shepherd of your people;
grant that as he sought those who had gone astray,
so we may seek out the indifferent and the lost,
bringing them into your fold;
through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Amen.
Prayer
Our Father,
forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Jesus, you knew rejection and disappointment;
help us if our work seems distasteful;
help us to decide what best to do,
what next to do,
or what to do at all.
Give us courage and cheerfulness to go the second mile,
and all the miles ahead.
