Prayer
Bless the Lord, whose name is to be praised,
Our Father who art in heaven,
who has given us his laws,
to show us the error of our ways,
Blessed is his son, Christ the Messiah,
who redeemed us from having broken them.
Blessed are you, O Holy Spirit,
who assists us in sinning no more,
and sustains us in the way of the Lord,
grant us wisdom and understanding this day.
Amen.
Old Testament Reading - Jeremiah's Trap
18Then the people said, “Come, let’s get rid of Jeremiah. We have our own priests and wise men and prophets — we don’t need his advice. Let’s silence him that he may speak no more against us, nor bother us again.”
19O Lord, help me! See what they are planning to do to me! 20Should they repay evil for good? They have set a trap to kill me, yet I spoke well of them to you and tried to defend them from your anger.
. . . . . Jeremiah 18:18-20Intercession
