THE SONG OF JUDITH
I will sing a new song to my God:
Lord you are great and glorious,
wonderful in strength, invincible.
Let the whole creation serve you:
for you spoke, and all things came into being.
Amen.
Gospel Reading - The parable of the mustard seed
30Jesus asked, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story shall I use to illustrate it? 31-32It is like a tiny mustard seed! Though this is one of the smallest of seeds, yet it grows to become one of the largest of plants, with long branches where birds can build their nests and be sheltered.”
33He used many such illustrations to teach the people as much as they were ready to understand.a 34In fact, he taught only by illustrations in his public teaching, but afterwards, when he was alone with his disciples, he would explain his meaning to them.
. . . . .Mark 4:30-34- Literally, “as they were able to hear.”
Christ gave them as a light to the nations,*
that Christ’s salvation might reach to the ends of the earth.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
