TERCE - (Coffee Break)

Bless the Lord, whose name is to be praised,
Our Father who art in heaven,
who has given us his laws,
to show us the error of our ways,
Blessed is his son, Christ the Messiah,
who redeemed us from having broken them.
Blessed are you, O Holy Spirit,
who assists us in sinning no more,
and sustains us in the way of the Lord,
grant us wisdom and understanding this day.

Old Testament Reading - The People’s Disobedience

23But what I told them was: Obey me, and I will be your God and you shall be my people; only do as I say, and all shall be well!

24But they wouldn’t listen; they kept on doing whatever they wanted to, following their own stubborn, evil thoughts. They went backward instead of forward. 25Ever since the day your fathers left Egypt until now, I have kept on sending them my prophets, day after day. 26But they wouldn’t listen to them or even try to hear. They are hard and stubborn and rebellious — worse even than their fathers were.

27Tell them everything that I will do to them, but don’t expect them to listen. Cry out your warnings, but don’t expect them to respond. 28Say to them: “This is the nation that refuses to obey the Lord its God and refuses to be taught. She continues to live a lie.”

. . . . . Jeremiah 7:23-28
